The doula profession is still new(ish), but figuring out ways to run a successful business are not. It's just that not ALL of the "great business programs" out there work for the doula profession!! Stefanie Antunes has been a Lamaze® Educator and doula since 2002, after the birth of her second son showed her just how valuable it is to be prepared for birth and to have good support around you.

Stefanie is a visionary in the childbirth field. She leads the Discover Birth organization providing a variety of services to expectant parents and training for those wishing to pursue work in the childbirth field. Stefanie is a board member with the Association of Ontario Doulas, former Public Relations Director for DONA International, and sits on many local boards and coalitions to improve our communities. She is a DONA-approved Birth Doula Trainer, runs an Approved Program for Lamaze International and runs two doula agencies Discover Birth and The Nesting Place.
Stefanie is the founder of The Birth Doula Program at the Scarborough Hospital.

Stefanie is a contributing author in the best selling Power of Women United and the book Bearing Witness: Childbirth Stories Told by Doulas. She is a regular contributing writer and blogger, and has done many interviews online and for TV/radio.

Before becoming a doula, Stefanie worked in corporate intelligence, helping large companies keep abreast of their markets and competitors. She now works to bring some of those same skills to the doula profession, helping it grow and prosper, along with its many doula members.

Frequently Asked Questions


When does the course start and finish?
The course starts on the listed start date and 5 modules are included. A new module is released every 2 weeks. Call-in Q&A sessions are listed with the course dates. Recordings of live sessions will be posted after each session. Remember...you have access to your content FOREVER! So you can take as long as you need with each module.
How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us before the 3rd module is released for a refund. You will be asked to submit your completed Action Plans and any feedback you have. We will stop future payments as long as your request is received before the 3rd module (and second billing payment) and you can submit your completed request at your convenience within 90 days for a refund of fees paid.
What if I'm not available for the live Q&A sessions?
No problem! Every live session will be recorded and posted to the course after each one. You are welcome to submit your questions ahead of time so they can be answered during the call, even if you won't be there.
What if I don't have a Facebook account to access the community of my peers?
This is the group chat of choice in today's day and age. If you don't have Facebook access we suggest you create an account you just use for this access or you can skip it all together. We offer this for additional continued support, but all official content will be released through the School platform so you won't miss anything official!

Five years ago I found myself a single mother. I had reported a whole $25k from my doula work the year before. Rent in my town was going to be that much per year. I wondered how the HELL I was going to continue the work I'd been passionate about for the past decade and support my kids.

I kept the business running but took a temporary position at the same time. I was burning the candle at both ends. I didn't think doula work would make me enough money, but I couldn't fathom giving up the work I was so passionate about eiter. I felt torn.

So I did what I always do. I looked for help. Anywhere and everywhere. And you know what happened? I found it! I grew my business by over 1000% over the 5 years to follow. And you know I had the answers inside me all along!!

I don't want to see ANY doulas give up their doula career because it doesn't give them enough money. So I've spent the past 3 years tracking what made the difference for me in my business so I could help others by sharing my "secrets" that aren't really such secrets after all.
